Shuttle Knit is a partnership between the Traveller and settled communities based in Wicklow. Our mission is to improve quality of life for Traveller Women and their families through enterprise. We started over 20 years ago, when Sr Catriona Geraghty invited Traveller women into her home for knitting and a chat. We were then, and remain now, dedicated to “Knitting Communities Together”.
Our Products & Services
Embroidery
Full embroidery service that includes logos, crests and emblems. We offer volume discounts on larger runs.
Customised gifts
“one off” pieces for customers, including wedding dresses, coats and blankets.
Whatever your idea or needs might be, we’re sure we can do it!
Shuttle Knit also supply a full digitising service for a small fee.
We have the facility to do small runs and sampling,
so if you have a contract that needs filling, please talk to us about how we might be able to help you.
Knitwear
We design, hand craft, and sell beautiful, Irish knitwear online, at markets and in our partner retailers throughout Ireland and globally. Our staff at Shuttle Knit are highly skilled knitters, seamstresses and designers.
Our profits are reinvested into the local economy and the Traveller Community,
Our classic, cosy knitwear is easy to wear yet stylish. Perfect all year round from winter warmth to keeping snug on cool summer evenings. Ideal for everything from the school run, to outdoor dining, to the work-from-home meeting for effortless comfort and style!
Our knitwear is available in a wide range of colours to suit your wardrobe. We have two yarn types Volga (50/50 wool mix) or Tibet Tweed (Silk/Nylon/Wool Mix).
